FDE SERVICE

Build more,
without hiring more.

As your company's dedicated studio: agile retainer, monthly flat fee, weekly demos.

Challenges

Stuck in this state?

01
You want to build things, but hiring engineers can't keep up
Site updates and CRM work keep piling up. Even after posting the role, hiring takes months — and the backlog only grows while you wait.
02
Outsourcing is heavy on scoping and spec-locking
It takes weeks just to lock requirements before you get a quote. Change the scope after signing, and you're back to re-quoting and renegotiating.
03
You've got the tools, but no one to run them
You've contracted HubSpot and other tools, but there's no one in-house to keep operating and improving them day to day.
Concept 01 — What is STUDIO

What is STUDIO

Hire vs. traditional outsourcing vs. Respectify STUDIO — a comparison

Hire vs. traditional outsourcing vs. Respectify STUDIO

Respectify STUDIO reimagines the engineer embedded inside your company — known overseas as the FDE (Forward Deployed Engineer) model — for Japanese B2B, built on AI-native development and a monthly retainer.

You get a dedicated team running from the week after signing, without carrying the fixed cost or hiring lead time of an in-house engineer. There's no need to spend weeks locking down scope and requirements the way you would with traditional outsourcing.

Faster than hiring. More flexible than outsourcing. We deliver something working, every week.

WHAT IS FDE

What is FDE

The essence of FDE: not a seat, but an outcome — vs. on-site staffing

Not a seat. An outcome.

FDE (Forward Deployed Engineer) is an engineering role established at overseas tech companies — most notably at data-driven firms such as Palantir. Rather than handing over a product or a proposal and calling it done, the engineer embeds in the client's day-to-day work and keeps building until results show up.

In Japanese B2B, it's often mistaken for on-site staffing. But the essence of FDE has nothing to do with sitting in a seat — it's about continuing to build the business's actual output, driven by whatever the front line's priorities are.

Respectify STUDIO reimagines this model with no physical on-site presence required — AI-native, and billed as a monthly flat-fee retainer.

Process

Starting from the backlog, moving every week.

The process is three simple acts.
We move forward step by step, starting with the first meeting, week by week.

01Act 01 — Backlog

Write down everything you want to do, in one list

In the first week, we write out everything scattered across your organization that people want done, and rank it by revenue impact (e.g. pricing page revamp, automating event follow-up emails, scaling case-study production). This one sheet replaces the spec document.

02Act 02 — Weekly Sprint

Weekly sprints, weekly demos

We build in one-week increments and show you something working at a demo every week.

03Act 03 — Monthly Report

Monthly report on hours worked and outcomes

We roll up hours worked (person-days) and outcomes into a monthly report, and plan next month's priorities together.

Weekly Cadence: lock this week's work on Monday, build all week, demo and reprioritize on Friday

Weekly Cadence — decide on Monday, build all week, demo on Friday

Concept 02 — What the Flat Fee Means

What the flat fee means

The gap between traditional contract work and Respectify STUDIO's decision-making flow

Traditional contract work vs. Respectify STUDIO's decision-making flow

Under a traditional contract-work agreement, once you lock requirements and get a quote, the authority to decide the execution order shifts to the vendor. Changing priorities after signing means re-quoting and renegotiating.

With Respectify STUDIO, backlog priority is always yours to decide. The contract itself doesn't change even as the market or your internal situation shifts. That's what the flat monthly fee means.

Why STUDIO

Three pillars of differentiation

A third option — not hiring, and not traditional outsourcing.

Weekly
Something working, every week

Not a quote — we show you a finished piece of work at a demo, every week.

Priority
Priorities can change, every week

We move without waiting for scope to be finalized, and reshuffle the backlog based on each week's demo. What would trigger a change order under a traditional contract simply cycles through, inside the flat fee.

Transparency
Fully transparent capacity

We visualize hours worked and outcomes in a monthly report, so you can scale up, down, or pause it month by month.

Frequently asked questions

Don't see your question here? Just ask.

Contract work is an agreement that commits to completing a defined deliverable. STUDIO is a retainer, so we move along the backlog's priority order as we go. The contract itself doesn't change even if the scope shifts.
We treat milestones as targets, but we don't guarantee a specific completion date. In exchange, you get a weekly demo, so progress is never invisible.
You can apply starting from about one day/week (the Start plan). Tell us the capacity you need in a free consultation and we'll propose accordingly.
Yes. Since it's billed monthly, we can flexibly adjust around your busy season or budget, including pausing.
We sign an NDA as part of the outsourcing agreement, and grant only the access permissions required for the work.
